Use your child’s natural curiosity—and exercise your own—by playing “I wonder” in a variety of situations to connect your child’s life with God. For example, in these easy days of summer play “I wonder” about Jesus’ life as a little boy and what his days were like.

As you and your child do things together, you could ask your child if Jesus might have done the same things. “I wonder if Jesus went fishing when he was a little boy” or swimming, or exploring. Leave pauses for your child to wonder or respond, too. You could say, “We’re doing the same sort of things Jesus did!”

Remember that conversations with children are usually brief. Let your child change the subject when he is ready.
