Meg Calvin

Meggie Lee (Meg) Calvin’s roots are in Texas, and after serving in Kansas as a Minister to Children and Families at First United Methodist Church of Winfield for over a decade, She now serves as Director Of Engagement for the Institute for Discipleship (IFD). Her days include such fun as recruiting participants and instructors for BeADisciple.com, producing and co-hosting the Listening Chair Podcast , and writing and speaking over cultivating a resilient spirit in leadership and life. “The Bluebonnet Child: Finding Grace in Poor Soil”with Wipf & Stock is her first book. It seeks to equip us to offer hope to kids whose homes seem hopeless. She is currently working on her second book which will hopefully read like Donald Miller’s Blue Like Jazz had a head-on collision with Tina Fey’s Bossypants. She has a BA in Religion and Philosophy from Southwestern College of Kansas and an MA in Children’s and Family Ministry from Bethel Seminary of Minnesota. Meg is obsessed with Saturday Night Live and loves to hunt for antiques, learn Spanish and line dance. She and her husband spend most of their free-time by the chimenea with some classic rock music, or at the park with their young daughter. x
